FIFA corruptly awarded it to Qatar - a nation where it’s illegal to be LGBTQI, where women have no rights, and where the stadiums for the tournament itself were built on literal slave labour via the country’s Kafala system - which is linked to over 300 deaths... So whatever happened on the pitch, it was a fucking ‘Qatastrophe’ off it.
